PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Lassiter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Williams's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Clark - Growls Garden. Lassiter is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Chumbawamba - Tubthumping. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mark Williams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Paul Lassiter!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Eddie Farnsworth and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams just misses with a punch to the body.
Paul Lassiter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A punch combination from Lassiter misses.
Lassiter uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Williams.
A jab from Lassiter misses.
Williams really is a fat lump.

Williams closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Williams connects with a nice short shot to Lassiter's temple.
Williams is trying to control the action in half guard but Lassiter is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lassiter won't allow Williams to pass to mount.
Williams takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Lassiter kicks off Williams and gets to his feet.
Lassiter drops Williams with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Williams looks back up at him and smiles so Lassiter waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.


It looks like Mark Williams has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lassiter misses with a double jab.
Lassiter misses with a two punch combination.
Lassiter tries to bum rush Williams with a series of wild strikes but Williams uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Williams swinging wilding here.
Williams on the wrong end of a nice jab.


Williams is rocked!
Williams on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Lassiter. Lassiter obviously looking to wear him down.
Williams is breathing heavily.
Williams avoids the body shot from Lassiter.
Lassiter drops a shoulder and throws a monster hook that connects perfectly to the side of Williams's head, knocking him out cold! Lassiter is extatic as he celebrates with his cornermen.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:04 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Paul Lassiter!
