Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Montgomery Nagendra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henderson Cormier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nagendra's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Mozart - Lacrimosa. Montgomery Nagendra has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 22 - 0, fighting out of London, Montgomery Nagendra!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 15 - 0, fighting out of London, Henderson Cormier!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, James Atkins and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cormier stuffs the takedown.

Nagendra gets caught flat footed, as Cormier shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Nagendra controls Cormier momentarily but Cormier frees himself.
Nagendra managing to control the position.
Nagendra keeping moving, preventing Cormier from controlling successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nagendra has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nagendra is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Cormier is controlling him.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Cormier shoots in looking for a takedown. Nagendra tries to sprawl out of it but Cormier keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Nagendra manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Cormier goes for a double leg but Nagendra avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Nagendra continues to drive forward.
Montgomery Nagendra has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Henderson Cormier.

Cormier feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Nagendra shoots for a double leg takedown but Cormier sprawls well. He's pushed Nagendra's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Cormier shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Cormier was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The referee asks Cormier politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Cormier prefers to stall for the moment though.

Henderson Cormier showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
