The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jasshole fails with a takedown attempt.
Tinker slaps away a takedown attempt from Jasshole, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Tinker rushes Jasshole and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Tinker tries to stall but Jasshole uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Tinker thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Jasshole is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
We've been hearing good reports from Jasshole's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

We've been informed that Tinker has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Tinker tries to clinch up but Jasshole circles away and keeps his distance.
Jasshole lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Jasshole shoots in looking for a takedown. Tinker tries to sprawl out of it but Jasshole keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Tinker manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Jasshole changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tinker tries to avoid it but Jasshole manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tinker to the ground. Tinker escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Jasshole seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Tinker does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Tinker bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Tinker tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

It seemed like Tinker was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Jasshole looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Tinker is fending him off so far but Jasshole persists. Nope, Tinker circles away and we're back to standing.
