The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sum sprawls well. Sum wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jones gets slowly back to his feet.

Jones has closed the distance and engaged Sum in a clinch.
Sum throws an elbow that misses.
Jones avoids a wild elbow strike from Sum.
Jones wants a takedown.
Sum misses with an elbow strike.
Jones blocks an elbow strike.

Jones escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jones looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sum is fending him off so far but Jones persists. Nope, Sum circles away and we're back to standing.

Sum wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Jones has him pressed against the cage.

Sum throws an elbow but it misses.

Sum throws an elbow but it misses.

Jones goes for a takedown attempt but Sum pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Jones doesn't manage to clinch there - Sum circles away.
Sum is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Sum swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Sum throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Sum misses with the combination.
A combination from Sum does no damage.
Jones keeps the fight on the outside.
Sum looks to clinch

and Jones counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Jones will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Sum will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Sum thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Sum is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Jones engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Jones is breathing heavily.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Sum is on top in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sum accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Sum stands up over Jones, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Sum keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Jones's head.
Sum throws a strike but Jones rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Sum really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jones. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sum throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Sum tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Sum thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Jones gets to his feet - Sum follows without any prompting.

Sum shoots in and gets a takedown into Jones's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dim Sum dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Jon Jones's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Jones avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Sum throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jones doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Sum counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Sum misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Sum shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Oh Jones is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sum throwing strikes from guard but Jones blocks nicely.
Jones seems to have got his legs back now.
Jones avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Jones has momentary wrist control but Sum slips an elbow through the middle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sum is working Jones over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Sum working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Jones's head.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Sum postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Jones covers up, he's hurt! Sum keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Sum and the ref steps in to end the fight! Sum can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
