PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Garuda Meow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christian Laford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Laford comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Jail Break kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Christian Laford will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Christian Laford!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laford keeps Meow at a distance using the push kick.
Laford fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Meow.
Laford connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Laford stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Laford wants it to stay on the feet.
Meow on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Laford lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Meow takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Jab by Laford.
Laford connects with a body shot that sends Meow's belly button to the back.
Laford misses with a head kick.
A clash of legs there as Laford blocks the low kick.
Meow on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Laford scores with a nice right hand.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Meow walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Meow shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Laford napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Laford is trying to control Meow's posture but Meow avoids it.
Laford tries to buck Meow off but Meow is having none of it.

Meow looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Meow definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Laford stops Meow from passing to mount.
Laford is looking to get back to his feet here but Meow is keeping cool and he's managed to take Laford's back.
Laford is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Meow off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

Meow working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
Meow has the hooks in. Laford is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Laford turns into Meow and is now in his guard.
Laford seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Meow looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Meow looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Meow preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Meow bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Laford's guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Laford is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Meow stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Laford swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Meow advances to half guard.

Meow prevents Laford from improving his position.

Meow maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Laford could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Meow has cracked it and Laford is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Meow!
