PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tomasz Adamek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Martin has chosen Power by Kayne West as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tomasz Adamek!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Michael Martin!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Ryoma Takatsuka and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adamek throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Martin throws a counter combo.

Adamek gets caught napping as Martin dives in and scores a takedown. Adamek manages to retain guard.
Adamek has momentary wrist control but Martin slips an elbow through the middle.
Martin throwing strikes from guard but Adamek blocks nicely.
Martin with a flurry of punches that miss.
Adamek knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Martin on the ground.
Martin lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Martin trying to move into half guard but instead Adamek has managed to sweep!

Adamek has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Martin is looking to stand up but Adamek isn't so interested in that idea.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Adamek looking to sit in guard and control but Martin gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Martin stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Adamek takes one to the side of the head.
Adamek ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Martin moves away.

Martin gets a takedown into half guard.
Martin with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Martin thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Adamek's head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Martin seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Adamek wants to get back to his feet.
Martin throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Adamek to regain full guard.
Martin throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Adamek works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Martin throwing shots but Adamek is blocking nicely.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Martin thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Martin not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Martin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Adamek keeps working.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Martin cracks Adamek with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Sloppy strikes from Martin. Those never looked like landing.
Adamek misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Martin.
Adamek avoids a punch combination nicely.

Adamek decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Martin is positioning himself well to prevent Adamek advancing to mount.
Martin is looking to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Michael Martin dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Martin shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Adamek eats them both and turns towards Martin to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.


Adamek is still looking wobbly from the end of the last round!
and Martin counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Adamek! He's just covering up as Martin starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:09 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Michael Martin!
A less than humble Michael Martin misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
