The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schneider attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Mentagawa swats away the attempt to clinch by Schneider.
Mentagawa feinted with a counter takedown.

Schneider moves into the clinch successfully.
Mentagawa is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Schneider gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Schneider tries to stall but Mentagawa uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Schneider tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Mentagawa avoids it.

Schneider manages to break the clinch.
Schneider throws a right hand that Mentagawa ducks under and follows up with a left that Mentagawa also avoids with ease.
Schneider tries to work over Mentagawa's front leg with a kick but Mentagawa checks it.
Schneider tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Mentagawa manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mentagawa has an Americana. Schneider didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Mentagawa is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Mentagawa hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
