The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Heggs gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Kongo has Heggs pushed against the cage.
Kongo swings wildly with an uppercut but Heggs uses good head movement to avoid it.
Kongo tries to throw a body punch but Heggs avoids it by throwing Kongo back against the cage.
Kongo wants to stall.
Heggs swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Heggs has had enough of the clinch but Kongo keeps him there for the moment.
Kongo misses with a body punch.
Kongo blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Heggs throws a punch but it's blocked by Kongo.
Heggs makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

It looks like Kingo Kongo has been cut.
Heggs is pushing Kongo up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kongo using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Heggs has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Kongo gets through Heggs's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Heggs blocks an elbow strike.
Kongo throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Heggs lands a shoulder strike.
A nice left hand lands by Kongo.
Kongo lands a hook that snaps the head of Heggs backwards.
Kongo misses with a knee strike.
Heggs working some nice short punches in the clinch.

Heggs breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Kongo closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Kongo fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
A right handed body shot lands from Heggs.
A nice left hand lands by Heggs.
Kongo misses with an elbow strike.
Heggs blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kongo tries to land knees in the clinch but Heggs avoids the damage to the body.
Heggs lands a nice uppercut.
Heggs lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Kongo.

Kongo is looking to control Heggs's arms but Heggs gets an underhook and turns him. Now Kongo has his back to the cage.
Heggs has Kongo pressed against the cage.

Heggs breaks the clinch.

Heggs takes the fight into the clinch.
Heggs managing to block the knees to the body from Kongo.
Heggs lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Kongo backwards.

That has opened up Kingo Kongo's cut even more.
Nice elbow from Kongo.
Heggs tries a body shot but Kongo blocks it.
Kongo prevents Heggs from breaking the clinch.
Kongo gets through Heggs's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Kongo lands a damaging elbow.
Kongo connects with a nasty looking knee right to Heggs's face.

It looks like Luther Heggs has been cut.

Heggs manages to break the clinch.
Kongo wants to clinch up but Heggs keeps it at a distance.
Kongo moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Heggs takes one to the chin there.
Kongo lands with a kick to the temple. Heggs shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Kongo fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Heggs on the side of the head.
Heggs ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kongo moves away.
Heggs moves out of range of the body kick.
Kongo throws a body kick that misses
enabling Heggs to counter with a crisp jab.
A head kick misses from Kongo.
Heggs appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Kongo misses with a wild body shot.
Heggs seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Kongo swings away with a body shot that misses
and Heggs counters with a body kick.
Kongo looks winded!
The fight stays on the outside here - Kongo looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Heggs throwing a counter right hand but Kongo manages to avoid it.

A chopping leg kick lands by Heggs.
Kongo closes the distance but Heggs moves to the side
and Heggs counters with a left and a right... And another left! Kongo is down! He's done! The ref dives in to save him and that's the end of the fight!
