Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hakeem Slaughter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lee Kwang Soo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Hakeem Slaughter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Lee Kwang Soo!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Michael Johnstone and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Soo. Those never looked like landing.

Soo moves into the clinch.

Soo pulls guard.
Soo is adopting a defensive guard.
Slaughter working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Soo working for a triangle but Slaughter defends it easily.

Soo had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Slaughter defends it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Slaughter slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Soo looking to control but Slaughter passes into half guard.
Soo is refusing to be controlled, as Slaughter sits in half guard.
Slaughter takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Soo shoots in but no luck this time.

Slaughter shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Soo napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Soo manages to get back to half guard.
Soo wants to get back to full guard.
Soo is doing well to control the position and prevent Slaughter from advancing to side control.
Soo is not content to let Slaughter control the position.
Slaughter throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Soo to regain full guard.
Slaughter scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Slaughter postures up in Soo's guard and throws a big left but Soo blocks it.
Slaughter slips nicely into half guard.

Slaughter trying to pass the guard but Soo defending well.

Slaughter not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Soo is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Soo keeping hold of Slaughter's head, controlling as best he can.
Soo tries to roll over but Slaughter keeps him under control.
Slaughter not doing much here.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Slaughter has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Slaughter wants to lay and pray for a moment but Soo keeps working.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Soo gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Soo effectively controlling the action here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Slaughter slows down the pace here.
Soo can't break the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hakeem Slaughter dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


A telegraphed takedown attempt from Soo is defended easily by Slaughter.
Slaughter is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Soo can do to turn this around?

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Hakeem Slaughter.

Soo has taken the fight to the clinch.
Slaughter tries for a takedown but Soo manages to get underhooks.

Soo digs a right hand into Slaughter's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Slaughter's gas tank.

Slaughter gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Soo regains guard.

Slaughter engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Slaughter trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Soo manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Soo wants to stand but Slaughter is controlling his posture from full guard.

Soo throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Lee Kwang Soo will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Soo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Slaughter as he jumps to the side.
Soo closes this distance looking for a takedown but Slaughter circles away.

Soo clinches with his opponent.

Slaughter breaks the clinch.

Soo moves into range and clinches up with Slaughter.
Slaughter looking for a takedown.
Soo creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

Slaughter wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Soo has him pressed against the cage.

Slaughter is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Soo gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Soo is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Slaughter prevents Soo from getting back to his feet.

Soo controls Slaughter momentarily but Slaughter frees himself.

A frustrated look appears on Slaughter's face as he tries to break the clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Slaughter.
Slaughter looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Slaughter.
Soo tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Slaughter smiles and moves away.

And that's the end of the fight!
Hakeem Slaughter showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Slaughter has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
