The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed right hand from Sainsburys misses the target.
Sainsburys swings for the body but Hopkins moves out of range.
Sainsburys lands with a straight right. Hopkins didn't see that one coming.
Hopkins throws a sloppy head kick
and Sainsburys cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Sainsburys throws a hook to the side of Hopkins's head but Hopkins sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
No luck for Hopkins with that takedown attempt.
Sainsburys misses with a body shot.

Hopkins swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Sainsburys lands a glancing blow to the side of Hopkins's head.
Hopkins dives in and grabs Sainsburys's left leg, looking for a takedown. Sainsburys pushes down on Hopkins's head and hops out.
Sainsburys misses with a hook. Hopkins ducked under it nicely.
Hopkins throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sainsburys's waist but Sainsburys gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hopkins off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jerry Hopkins. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hopkins shoots in but Sainsburys avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Hopkins tries to close the distance and clinch but Sainsburys swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Sainsburys throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Hopkins uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sainsburys.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hopkins is defended easily by Sainsburys.

Hopkins is breathing heavily.

and Hopkins moves into the clinch.
Hopkins jumps guard but Sainsburys stands there with Hopkins around his waist. Hopkins gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
