Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bob Hawke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Green (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Green has chosen Hit The Floor as his entrance music. Bob Hawke has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Bob Hawke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Johnny Green!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Richard Clark and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Green is looking to clinch.

Green shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Green was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Hawke is squirming around, avoiding Green's attempts to control the action.
Hawke tries to reverse the position but Green maintains control.
Green can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hawke is looking to escape.
Hawke is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Green trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Green is working for a guillotine from mount but Hawke frees his head quite easily.

Green goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Hawke turns into him and now he's in Green's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Green is pulling down on Hawke's head. It's preventing any offense from Hawke, at least for the moment.
Let's hope that Green has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Green is trying to control the position but Hawke postures up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hawke wanted to stand there but Green had control of the position.
Hawke postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Green looking for a sweep. Not yet Green, not yet.
Hawke wants to get up but he can't break Green's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Hawke has his takedown stuffed

and Green counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Hawke is breathing heavily.

Hawke manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Green misses with a takedown
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
and Hawke counters with a head kick. That will keep Green thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Hawke circles away from the clinch attempt.
Green fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Bob Hawke seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A head kick misses from Green.
Green tries to clinch but Hawke is having none of it.
Green tries for a takedown but Hawke circles away easily
and Hawke connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Hawke takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

and Green decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hawke's guard.
Hawke thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Hawke tries to strike from the bottom.
Green stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hawke swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Green works over Hawke with some ground and pound from guard.
Green passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Hawke is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Hawke might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Green stands up.
Hawke shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Green as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bob Hawke. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Green tries for a takedown but Hawke circles away easily

and Hawke counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Hawke.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johnny Green dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Hawke shoots in for a double leg but Green sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Green closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Green with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Hawke wants to control but Green is keeping busy.
Green tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Hawke looks like he's trying to stand up.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Green wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hawke keeps working.

Hawke is trying to stand.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Green bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Green tries to clinch but Hawke is having none of it.
Green shoots and misses

and Hawke counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Hawke misses with an elbow over the top.
Come on Hawke - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Green is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Hawke pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Hawke breaks the clinch.

Green forces Hawke back against the cage and clinches.

Green manages to break the clinch.

Hawke darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Green regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Hawke.
Green wants to hit a switch here but Hawke passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Green there!
Green tries to reverse the position but Hawke maintains control.
Hawke trying to control but Green is having none of it.

Green holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Hawke tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Hawke lands a heavy elbow.
Green really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Hawke can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Green is looking to escape.
Green is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Green is looking to get to half guard.
Green wants to hold on but Hawke pushes him away.
Green is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Hawke avoids the attempt from Green to control.
Hawke punishing his opponent with strikes.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Green is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Bob Hawke will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Green accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Green slips nicely into half guard.
Hawke is staying active underneath Green, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Hawke tries to roll over but Green keeps him under control.
Hawke tries to kick Green off but Green keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Green tries to clinch

and Hawke moves into the clinch.
Green keeps control of Hawke as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Green stalling in the clinch but Hawke improves position.
Hawke tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Green just stands there and leans against the cage.

Hawke successfully pulls guard.
Green must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Hawke not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Green trying to move into half guard but instead Hawke has managed to sweep!

Hawke decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Green, up you get!

and Hawke counters with a takedown into side control.
Green regains half guard.
Green makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Green.

Bob Hawke overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Hawke won't allow Green to sweep him here.

Hawke postures up in Green's guard and throws a big left but Green blocks it.

Hawke has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Green is proving hard to escape from.
Green tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Hawke misses with a takedown attempt - Green sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Bob Hawke showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Hawke has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
