Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Xzing Gomez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Liddell's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, It's Dark and Hell Is Hot. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Xzing Gomez!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Albert Achterberg and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomez will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Liddell seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gomez does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Gomez shoots in for a takedown but Liddell shows good takedown defense.
Liddell slaps away a takedown attempt from Gomez, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Chuck Liddell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Xzing Gomez.
Gomez shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Liddell as he avoids it easily.

Liddell decides to stand up, so the ref orders Gomez to his feet.

Liddell is pushing down on Gomez's leg trying to pass to half guard. Gomez is fighting to maintain full guard but Liddell has managed to sneak the leg through.

Liddell passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Gomez!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Liddell goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Gomez turns into him and now he's in Liddell's guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Liddell is on top in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Liddell slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Gomez shoots in looking for a takedown. Liddell tries to sprawl out of it but Gomez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Liddell manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Gomez feints and as Liddell raises his hands in defense, Gomez changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Gomez might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Liddell haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Xzing Gomez has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Liddell looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Gomez cracks Liddell with a solid left hand.
Chuck Liddell is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well Liddell has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
