Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jere Beach!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bobby Sapp!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shirou Masuda and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sapp is defended easily by Beach.
Sapp with a lazy takedown attempt
and Beach counters with a head kick.

Sapp closes the distance and clinches.
Beach wants to take the fight to the mat but Sapp manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Sapp successfully pulls guard.
Beach trying to control but Sapp is working from the bottom.

Beach got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sapp has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Beach has managed to get both his arms back between Sapp's legs - danger averted.
Beach could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Beach is in close to Sapp's body, working some short punches and elbows.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sapp pulls Beach in close to prevent any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sapp wants to sweep but no luck.
Sapp looking to control but Beach passes into half guard.
Beach is trying to control. Sapp wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Sapp is pressing down on Beach's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Sapp working for a triangle but Beach defends it easily.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sapp can do anything to dispel that myth.
Beach loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Beach postures up in Sapp's guard and throws a big left but Sapp blocks it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Oooooh!!! Sapp has knocked Beach down with a huge combo! Sapp steps away and waves a wobbly Beach back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


It looks like Jere Beach has been cut.
Horrible takedown attempt by Sapp or perhaps it was just good defense by Beach, which made it look bad.
Jere Beach has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bobby Sapp.
No luck for Sapp with that takedown attempt.
Sapp shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Beach defends it nicely.
Some wild striking there from Sapp.

Sapp shoots for a takedown but Beach saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Sapp looks winded!
Sapp dives in for a single leg takedown but Beach sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Beach is looking for a takedown.
Beach misses with the head strike.
Beach drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Sapp gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Sapp has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Beach is trying to keep an underhook but Sapp manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Beach might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Beach looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Sapp is pressing down on Beach's thigh, looking to free his foot. Beach is holding on for now.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Well, if Sapp is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Beach trying to control but Sapp postures up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Beach blocking the ground and pound attempt from Sapp.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Sapp closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Beach escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nice takedown defense from Beach. No joy for Sapp on that attempt.
Beach throws a sloppy head kick and Sapp moves out of range easily.
Sapp tries a head kick but it misses.
Sapp pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Sapp gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Sapp pulls guard.

Sapp is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Sapp lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Sapp has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Beach wants to stand and escape but Sapp is having none of it.
Sapp wants to control from the top but Beach keeps moving.
Sapp wants to pass the guard but Beach is keeping the position.
Beach wants to sweep but no luck.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Sapp makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Sapp looking to pass the guard.
Sapp is stalling in the full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Sapp gets to his feet - Beach follows without any prompting.
Beach blocks a head kick by Sapp.
Sapp smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Sapp moves into range and clinches up with Beach.

Sapp pulls guard successfully.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Sapp has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Beach off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Sapp shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Beach but Beach pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Sapp has managed to clinch.
Beach has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Sapp after a bit of a struggle.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Sapp. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Beach drops down looking for an ankle pick but Sapp pulls his leg out and moves away.
Sapp closes the distance and clinches up with Beach, looking for a takedown. Sapp pushes Beach against the cage but Beach circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Jere Beach has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bobby Sapp.
Sapp swats away the attempt to clinch by Beach.

Beach stuffs the takedown.

Sapp closes the distance and clinches.
Beach taking a breather.
Beach is working for takedown but Sapp is calmly controlling the position for now.
Sapp is trying to drag Beach to the mat but Beach just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Sapp has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Beach avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Beach wants to take the fight to the mat but Sapp manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Nice body punch from Sapp - that landed with a thud.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bobby Sapp showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Sapp shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Beach pinned against the cage. Beach gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Sapp lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Beach missing with a left hand there. Sapp was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Sapp is throwing punches like he's double parked. Oh my word! Huge right hand from Sapp shuts the power down on Beach. Lights out, game over! Sapp is your winner.
