A fine choice. George Merfis struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 137.1lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. John Thomas Teller could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to George Merfis's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Merfis misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Merfis fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Teller, pushing him back against the cage.

Teller's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Teller looks to land a combination but Merfis avoids it well.
Merfis fails with the takedown
and Teller connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Merfis takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Merfis looks winded!
Merfis closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Teller has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Merfis shoots in and drives through. Teller sprawls well.
Teller avoids a punch combination nicely.
Merfis shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
