Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hipolito Everett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Raul Jimenez!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jimenez shoots in and bounces Everett off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Everett working a defensive guard but Jimenez manages to pass into side control anyway.
Jimenez works to advance to full mount. Everett defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Everett is working to get back to half guard.
Jimenez working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Everett knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jimenez on the ground.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jimenez is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Everett has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Everett!
Everett could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Jimenez looking for a guillotine here but Everett defends easily.

Everett stands and steps away. Jimenez gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Everett shoots for a takedown but Jimenez saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Everett slaps away a takedown attempt from Jimenez, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Jimenez misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jimenez looks to land a body kick but Everett moved away.
Jimenez shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Jimenez shoots in for a double leg but Everett sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Hipolito Everett has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Raul Jimenez.

and Jimenez counters with a right hand to the body.

Jimenez fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Everett, pushing him back against the cage.

Everett tries to pull guard but Jimenez holds him up against the cage and eventually Everett drops back down to his feet.
Everett misses with a short punch on the inside.
Jimenez wants to break the clinch but can't.

Everett is trying to pull guard but Jimenez has him pressed against the cage.
Jimenez is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Everett pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Everett tries a body shot but Jimenez blocks it.

Jimenez has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Everett uses from the top position.

Everett wants to stand and escape but instead Jimenez has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Everett is trying to control the position but Jimenez postures up.
Jimenez stands and throws Everett's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Everett trying to control but Jimenez flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!

Jimenez is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Everett knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Everett for a finish.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Jimenez.
Jimenez thows a leg kick but Everett checks it
and Everett counters with a nice low kick that buckles Jimenez's knee momentarily.

Everett stalling.
Everett prevents a body shot from Jimenez.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Jimenez just leaning against Everett, taking a breather.
Jimenez looking for a takedown.
Hipolito Everett has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Raul Jimenez.
Jimenez tries to score a body lock takedown but Everett shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Everett tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jimenez smiles and moves away.
Jimenez throws a solid leg kick but Everett takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Jimenez.

Jimenez closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Jimenez tries to land knees in the clinch but Everett avoids the damage to the body.
Jimenez goes for a takedown attempt but Everett pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Jimenez shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Everett as he avoids it easily.

Jimenez has managed to clinch.
Jimenez is looking to control Everett's arms but Everett gets an underhook and turns him. Now Jimenez has his back to the cage.
Everett tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Nice elbow from Everett.
Jimenez is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Everett to keep the fight standing.

Jimenez decides to pull guard.

Jimenez is breathing heavily.
Everett with a flurry of punches that miss.

Everett trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Jimenez has Everett pulled in close to control his posture.
Everett postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Jimenez manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Everett manages to get himself to full guard.

Jimenez wants to stand but Everett is controlling his arm.

Everett can't do much from the bottom here.
Jimenez is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Everett tries to improve position but can't.

Jimenez tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Jimenez takes a little break here. Everett wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Raul Jimenez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Everett throws a head kick that misses.
Everett keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Everett avoids the head kick by Jimenez.

Jimenez dives in and scores a takedown into Everett's guard.
Everett wants to sweep but no luck.
Everett is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Everett is trying to control the position but Jimenez postures up.
Raul Jimenez has got the better of the ground game so far.
Jimenez not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
