The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cho looks to score with a jab to the body but Abbott is just out of range.

Cho moves forwards but Abbott connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Cho fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Abbott looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Cho will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Abbott throws a front kick aimed at Cho's knee but Cho avoids it well.

Cho throws out a counter right but Abbott avoids it with no problem.

Abbott throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Cho tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Abbott is in Cho's guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Brenden Abbott will probably get the nod.

Abbott uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Cho.
Some bone on bone action there as Cho checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Cho takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Cho is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Abbott's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Cho connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Abbott scrambles back to his feet.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cho is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
