The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mayweather Jr. uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Machado.
Machado throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mayweather Jr..

Machado darts in and clinches Mayweather Jr. up against the cage.
Machado is trying to push Mayweather Jr. away but Mayweather Jr. has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

It looks like Johan Machado has been cut.
Machado wants to break free but Mayweather Jr. has control.
Machado is looking to break free of the clinch but Mayweather Jr. has double underhooks.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Mayweather Jr. has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Machado changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Mayweather Jr. fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Machado jumps guard but Mayweather Jr. turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Mayweather Jr. lands a left hand that snaps the head of Machado backwards.
Machado's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Oh Machado is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Mayweather Jr. pushes Machado against the cage. Mayweather Jr. is working some dirty boxing. Mayweather Jr. pushes off with a quick right hook! Machado goes down! Machado tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Mayweather Jr. moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
