Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nathanael Lowery!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nam Le!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Le throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Lowery tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Le is in Lowery's guard.
Lowery might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Le lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Le trying to control but Lowery is working from the bottom.
Le lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Le loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lowery wants to stand and escape but Le is having none of it.
Le wants to control from the top but Lowery keeps moving.
Le distracts Lowery with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Le scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Le throws an elbow that misses. Lowery uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Le's guard. Nice move by Lowery!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Le can do anything to dispel that myth.
Le throws a nice elbow from the bottom.

Le looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Lowery tries to stand but Le is controlling from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Le looking for a sweep. Not yet Le, not yet.
Le throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Lowery wants to control from the top but Le keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Le trying to strike off his back.
Lowery is looking to stand up but Le won't let him.
Lowery trying to control the position from guard on top but Le is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Lowery scoring with some ground and pound.
Lowery missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Lowery is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Lowery stopping the sweep attempt from Le.
Le throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Le shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lowery's guard.


Lowery is rocked!
Le has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Le arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Lowery's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Nam Le!
