Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Travis Turner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Alvez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Travis Turner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chuck Alvez!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Bruno Hogan and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvez shoots for a takedown but Turner saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Turner blocks a jab.
Alvez throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Alvez plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!


It looks like Travis Turner has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Alvez fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Turner.
Alvez bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Turner! He dives into his guard looking to finish!
Alvez wants to pass the guard but Turner is keeping the position.
Alvez lands a couple of digs.

Turner might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Alvez wants to pass the guard but Turner is defending well.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Alvez connects with a nice short shot to Turner's temple.
Turner works his way to full guard. Good work.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Alvez avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Turner working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Alvez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Alvez manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Turner is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Alvez pulls his head out easily.
Alvez is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Turner is desperately trying to improve his position but Alvez has a good base and remains in mount.
Alvez lands with some strikes.
Alvez connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Alvez is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Turner has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Alvez looking for a guillotine from mount but Turner is having none of it.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Alvez wants to finish this one by submission but Turner is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Alvez.
Turner is wriggling around trying to escape.
Alvez thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Turner is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chuck Alvez dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Travis Turner's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Turner closes the distance and clinches up with Alvez, looking for a takedown. Turner pushes Alvez against the cage but Alvez circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Travis Turner is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Alvez jabs at Turner's body.
Chuck Alvez seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Turner doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Alvez counters with a nice uppercut.
Alvez lands a head kick. Turner smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Alvez lands a jab to the nose.
Alvez cracks Turner with a right hand to the side of the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Turner shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Alvez's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Alvez looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Turner seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Turner trying to control the position from guard on top but Alvez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Turner slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Turner is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Alvez should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Turner controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Alvez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Turner gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Turner with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Turner is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Turner wanted to stand there but Alvez had control of the position.

Alvez is in trouble now - Turner has advanced to mount!

Alvez tries to roll over but Turner keeps him under control.

Turner passes the guard and advances to mount!

Travis Turner overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Turner is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Turner extends the arm and Alvez is forced to tap!
