Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Proctor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Lewis has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, John Lewis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Michael Proctor!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Vladimir Khabensky and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lewis tries a head kick but it misses.
Proctor misses with an attempted mid kick.

Lewis closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Lewis tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Lewis wants to take the fight to the mat but Proctor manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Lewis has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Proctor prevents Lewis from breaking the clinch.
Lewis looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Proctor prevents a body shot from Lewis.
Lewis tries to break the clinch but Proctor is controlling the position.
The referee is keeping an eye on Proctor - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lewis's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Proctor gets a clinch.
Lewis looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Proctor's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Proctor prevents Lewis from breaking the clinch.

Proctor breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Proctor throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Lewis fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Proctor is out of range.
Proctor looks for the body kick but Lewis saw that one coming.
Lewis throws out a loose jab but Proctor uses good head movement to avoid it.
Lewis swinging wildly here.
Lewis works Proctor's body with a nice hook.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lewis tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Proctor was well out of range. Poor timing from Lewis.
Lewis tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Proctor paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Proctor dodges the punch combination from Lewis.
Proctor blocks a head kick by Lewis.
Lewis wants to clinch up but Proctor keeps it at a distance.
A nice leg kick lands there from Proctor.
Lewis lands a nice shot that snaps Proctor's head back.
A big left from Proctor misses.
Proctor misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Proctor tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Lewis throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Proctor looks to land a body kick but Lewis moved away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lewis shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Proctor eats them both and turns towards Lewis to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.


It looks like Michael Proctor has been cut.
Lewis fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Lewis misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Lewis swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Lewis tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Proctor checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Lewis looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Lewis misses the body punch
and Proctor makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Lewis really felt that one!
Lewis just misses with a punch to the body.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Proctor. Lewis shrugs it off though.
Lewis is breathing heavily.
Lewis throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Proctor scores with a push kick.
Proctor jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Proctor scores with a nice body kick.
Lewis has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.


It looks like John Lewis has been cut.
Proctor lands a really nice looking cross but Lewis seems unphased.
Proctor throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Lewis crumples to the floor and the fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Michael Proctor!
An out of breath Michael Proctor thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
