PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Xander Cetan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lorenzo Lamel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Xander Cetan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lorenzo Lamel!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Dean Styles and Columbo Gatti.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cetan shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Lamel is pulling down on Cetan's head. It's preventing any offense from Cetan, at least for the moment.

Cetan stands and steps away. Lamel gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Lamel has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lamel feints and then cracks Cetan's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Cetan down.
Lamel misses with a kick to the body.
Cetan fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
A lazy left from Lamel finds it's target.

It looks like Xander Cetan has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lamel dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Cetan. That did some damage!
Nice sprawl there from Lamel as Cetan shoots in.
Lamel pushes Cetan away with a front kick.
Lamel scores with a shot to the body.
Cetan is breathing heavily.
Cetan stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Lamel.
Cetan misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Lamel smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Lamel thumps Cetan with a low kick.
Cetan throws a wild hook but Lamel just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Cetan gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Lamel raises his hands in celebration and walks away!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lorenzo Lamel!
Lorenzo Lamel decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
