PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bread Panterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hicks Carlin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bread Panterson looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bread Panterson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Hicks Carlin!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Roger Salmon and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Panterson dives in and scores a takedown into Carlin's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Panterson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Panterson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Panterson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Panterson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Carlin does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Carlin.

Panterson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Panterson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Panterson wants it to stay on the feet.

Carlin fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Panterson, pushing him back against the cage.
Panterson has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Carlin after a bit of a struggle.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Carlin closes the distance and clinches.
Carlin is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Panterson is keeping busy.

Carlin pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Carlin lands a really nice looking cross but Panterson seems unphased.
Hicks Carlin seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Carlin has closed the distance and engaged Panterson in a clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Carlin tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Panterson just stands there and leans against the cage.
Hicks Carlin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Panterson tries to score a body lock takedown but Carlin shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Hicks Carlin.
I think Panterson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
