Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 1, fighting out of London, James McGuiness!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Alexandre Riberio!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Phil Schofield and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from McGuiness does no damage.
McGuiness throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
McGuiness looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Riberio tries to close the distance and clinch but McGuiness swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
McGuiness looks to land a right hand but Riberio moved out of range.
McGuiness throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Riberio decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
McGuiness manages to get to full guard.
Riberio seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Riberio works a leg free and moves into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Riberio is taking a breather. McGuiness says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Riberio wants to pass the guard but McGuiness is defending well.

Riberio is sneakily working for an arm triangle but McGuiness sees it coming and defends easily.
McGuiness wants to control but Riberio is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Riberio slows the pace down in half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
McGuiness wants to improve his position but Riberio is controlling well.

Riberio is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! McGuiness is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Alexandre Riberio!
Alexandre Riberio bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
