Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Derek Kane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Whitehope (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Derek Kane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Whitehope!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Stewart Dunkirk and Gwen Towbar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Whitehope closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Kane is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Whitehope looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kane with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Whitehope throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Kane is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Whitehope seems to be working for a kimura but Kane defends the submission attempt.

Kane working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Whitehope doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Whitehope manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Whitehope postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Whitehope working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Kane's head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Whitehope postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Kane has momentary wrist control but Whitehope slips an elbow through the middle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kane had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Whitehope defends it easily.

Whitehope gets to his feet and stands over Kane, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Kane felt that one! Whitehope unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Kane from any more punishment!

After the fight, Mark Whitehope was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
