Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Andreas Peters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julian Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Julian Alves!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, James Ackerman and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peters avoids the body shot from Alves.

Alves closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Peters has his hands clasped together around Alves's back. He's all about the action.
The fighters are battling for position here. Peters manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Alves trying to control the position from guard on top but Peters is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Peters might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Peters's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Peters is looking to stand up but Alves isn't so interested in that idea.

Alves throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Peters was covering up waiting for the punch and Alves finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Peters knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Alves on the ground.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Peters has taken the fight to the clinch.

Peters with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Peters breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Peters uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Alves.
Peters tries to clinch up but Alves circles away and keeps his distance.
Peters bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Peters enables Alves to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Peters manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Peters utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

and Peters counters by clinching up.
Alves is pressed up against the cage. Peters has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Alves down to the mat. Alves avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
A looping hook to the body misses from Alves. Peters does a little dance to reset his feet.

Alves fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Peters to the ground. Alves is now in Peters's guard.

Alves stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Peters swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Alves sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Peters's guard.
Peters is doing well to control the position and prevent Alves from advancing to side control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Alves is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Peters is just riding it out for now. Alves eventually gives up the hold.
