The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boyko throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Sotto Jr scoring well with a low kick there.
Sotto Jr shoots in looking for a takedown but Boyko manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Sotto Jr's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
We've been hearing reports that Sotto Jr has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Sotto Jr.
Umberto Sotto Jr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Boyko has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Boyko drops his hands momentarily and Sotto Jr takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Boyko buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Sotto Jr throws the left hand but Boyko avoids the punch easily.
Boyko throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

and Boyko counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Sotto Jr wants to slow Boyko down by chopping away at his legs.
Boyko replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Sotto Jr blocks it well.

Sotto Jr throws a head kick that Boyko semi-blocks.

Sotto Jr shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Boyko but Boyko pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Boyko throws an overhand right that lands on Sotto Jr's shoulder, as Sotto Jr tries to avoid the shot.

Sotto Jr takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Sotto Jr tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Boyko is able to avoid easily.

Sotto Jr chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Boyko can pounce on him.
Boyko has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Sotto Jr.

Boyko throws out a powerful jab.
Sotto Jr looks to score with a jab to the body but Boyko is just out of range.
Sotto Jr will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Sotto Jr throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Boyko is looking for the big counter here.
Sotto Jr moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Boyko catches Sotto Jr with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Sotto Jr is rocked!
Boyko feints a jab and as Sotto Jr dips his head, Boyko unleashes a brutal head kick that catches Sotto Jr right on the jaw! Timbeeer! Sotto Jr falls backwards in slow motion, only propped up by the cage! Boyko smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.
