Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ellsworth Patton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Devon Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ellsworth Patton is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ellsworth Patton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Devon Carter!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Alyssa Summers and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Carter.

Carter goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Patton has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Carter but great work by Patton.
Patton tries to stand but Carter controls the position and pulls Patton into his guard.
Carter is striking from the bottom but Patton uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.
Carter tries to roll over but Patton keeps him under control.

Patton thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Carter's head.

Carter is trying to control but can't.

Carter is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Carter wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Patton postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Patton wants to stand and escape but instead Carter has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Patton wants to control the position but Carter says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Ellsworth Patton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Devon Carter.

Patton decides to pull guard.

A close round but Devon Carter will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Patton instigates a clinch.
Carter tries to pull guard but Patton holds him up against the cage and eventually Carter drops back down to his feet.
Patton tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Patton has his foot on Carter's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Carter works his way back into a safe position though.

Patton looks for a takedown but Carter sprawls well.
Patton shoots for a takedown but Carter saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Carter closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Patton's guard.

Carter is pushing down on Patton's leg trying to pass to half guard. Patton is fighting to maintain full guard but Carter has managed to sneak the leg through.

Carter wants to work for an arm triangle but Patton is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Patton works his way to full guard. Good work.
Carter won't allow Patton to get back to his feet.
Patton can't keep his opponent in guard - Carter advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Carter is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Patton defends it well.

Devon Carter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



A momentary lapse in concentration from Patton enables Carter to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Patton manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Patton is striking off his back. Carter thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard.

Carter is working for a kimura but Patton is defending it quite comfortably.
Patton holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Carter will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Devon Carter comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Carter winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
