Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Johns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Caleb Carr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carr has chosen Gang Starr - Moment Of Truth as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Jimmy Johns has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jimmy Johns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Caleb Carr!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Wagner Zegers and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carr closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Johns quickly recovers to half guard.

Johns looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Johns is looking to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Johns looking for subs from the bottom but Carr mounts him!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johns keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Carr is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Johns can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Johns is in all sorts of trouble here.
Johns manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Carr is working for a kimura but Johns is defending it quite comfortably.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Johns trying to control but Carr postures up.
Johns is refusing to be controlled, as Carr sits in half guard.
Johns won't allow Carr to pass to mount.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Johns is trying to get back to full guard.

Carr thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Johns's head.

Johns looking for submissions off his back.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Carr's corner calls for a 1-2. Carr obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Both fighters circling a little - Johns finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Carr lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Carr avoids the head kick by Johns.
Johns thows a body kick. Carr tries to catch it but that hurt him.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Carr checks a leg kick.
Johns is looking to land body kicks.
Carr bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Johns's head.


Johns is rocked!
Johns fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Carr avoids it really well and circles away.
We've been told by Johns's head coaches at TC's House Of Pain *LOP* that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Johns dodges the punch combination from Carr.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Carr scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
An inside leg kick from Johns misses.
Johns avoids a punch combination nicely.
Carr swinging wildly here.
Good work by Carr as he checks the leg kick.
Johns takes a shot right to the bread basket.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Carr scores with a one two! Johns had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Oh Johns is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Carr pounces like a tiger and cracks Johns with a vicious hook! Johns is down but not out! Carr follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Caleb Carr!
Jimmy Johns was interviewed post fight and said 'Congratulations to my very worthy opponent. Today just wasn't my day, but rest assured that I will be back stronger than ever. '.
