Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Desmond Parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Reesalo Cherubim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reesalo Cherubim has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Desmond Parker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Reesalo Cherubim!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Bruno Hogan and Francis DeMontford.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cherubim throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Parker was covering up waiting for the punch and Cherubim finishes the takedown easily into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Parker keeping moving, preventing Cherubim from controlling successfully.
Cherubim is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Cherubim trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cherubim postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Parker is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Cherubim, into his guard.


Cherubim working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Parker doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Parker manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Parker throws a big elbow that misses.
Parker trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Cherubim looking for a guillotine here but Parker defends easily.
Parker is in close to Cherubim's body, working some short punches and elbows.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cherubim is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Parker is controlling him.
Cherubim trying to keep a closed guard but Parker is proving a slippery customer.
Parker postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Cherubim is looking to stand up but Parker isn't so interested in that idea.
Cherubim is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Parker throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Cherubim works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Cherubim has momentary wrist control but Parker slips an elbow through the middle.

Parker keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Cherubim's head.

Cherubim working for a triangle but Parker defends it easily.
Parker throws a strike but Cherubim rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Cherubim trying to control the position from guard on top but Parker is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Parker trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Cherubim wants to pass the guard but Parker is keeping the position.
Parker wants to stand and escape but Cherubim is having none of it.
Cherubim slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Cherubim wants to take a breather but Parker manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Cherubim.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Cherubim sitting in guard here, content to control.
Cherubim trying to control the position from guard on top but Parker is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Parker will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Parker is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Cherubim is controlling him.
Cherubim sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Parker's guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Cherubim is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Parker reverses the position - he's now on top in Cherubim's guard.
Cherubim looking to hit a scissor sweep but Parker is one step ahead there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Reesalo Cherubim will probably get the nod.
That's time! Parker's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Parker throws a right hand that Cherubim ducks under and follows up with a left that Cherubim also avoids with ease.
Cherubim misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Cherubim shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Parker as he avoids it easily.

Cherubim closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Parker wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Cherubim is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Parker is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Reesalo Cherubim has got the better of the ground game so far.
Parker is not content to let Cherubim control the position.
Parker is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Cherubim thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Parker can't do much from the bottom here.

Cherubim stands up.
Jab, jab by Cherubim - just one landing.

Cherubim has managed to clinch.
Parker stalling in the clinch but Cherubim improves position.
Cherubim connects with a nasty looking knee right to Parker's face.

Parker is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Cherubim is defending well for now.
Parker tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Cherubim's elbow.
Cherubim is trying to push Parker away but Parker has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Cherubim has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Cherubim goes for a takedown in the clinch but Parker prevents it.
Cherubim stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Parker wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Cherubim prevents a body shot from Parker.
Cherubim changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Parker fights it off and pushes away nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Reesalo Cherubim showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Cherubim clinches up with Parker and pushes him back against the cage.

Cherubim successfully pulls guard.
Parker cracks Cherubim with a solid left hand.
Parker scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Cherubim escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Parker gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Parker lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cherubim not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Cherubim working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Parker.
Parker chips away with some ground and pound.
Parker throwing strikes but missing.

Parker won't allow Cherubim to sweep him here.
Parker working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Cherubim's head.
Parker scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Cherubim wants to sweep here but Parker controlling him for the moment.
Parker lands a couple of digs.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cherubim is trying to keep Parker in close.
Cherubim wants to sweep but no luck.

Cherubim is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Parker accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Cherubim pulls Parker in close to his closed guard and prevents Parker from doing any damage or advancing position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Parker dives in for a single leg takedown but Cherubim sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Cherubim on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Cherubim has Parker pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Parker manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Cherubim tries to pull guard but Parker forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Cherubim tries to land knees in the clinch but Parker avoids the damage to the body.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Parker.

Cherubim pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Parker fails with the takedown.
Parker fails with an attempt to clinch.
Cherubim shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Parker sprawls well. Parker wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Cherubim gets slowly back to his feet.
Desmond Parker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Reesalo Cherubim.
Cherubim takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Cherubim throws a sloppy head kick and Parker moves out of range easily.
Cherubim misses with a takedown attempt - Parker sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Cherubim has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Parker is trying to keep an underhook but Cherubim manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Reesalo Cherubim is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Reesalo Cherubim comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Cherubim has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
