Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Takeshi Watanabe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dr Gonzo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Watanabe kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is The Handsome Family - Far From Any Road. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Dr Gonzo was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonzo lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Gonzo misses with a looping right.
Watanabe throws a big counter combination but Gonzo scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Gonzo lands a body shot.
Gonzo fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Dr Gonzo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice defenses there by Watanabe.
Watanabe tries to counter by clinching up but Gonzo breaks away and moves out of range.
Gonzo scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Watanabe chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Gonzo can pounce on him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Watanabe counters with a three punch combo that has Gonzo backing up. Gonzo nods at Watanabe to acknowledge the strikes.

Gonzo ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Watanabe moves away.
Watanabe appears to be looking for a big counter.
Watanabe doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Gonzo tries to score with a low kick but Watanabe moves his leg out of the way.
As Gonzo looks to move away, Watanabe throws a big counter combo bu Gonzo just gets out of the way.
Gonzo fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Watanabe avoids it really well and circles away.
Gonzo loads up on a big right hand but Watanabe slips the punch.

Watanabe displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Gonzo throws out the jab.
Watanabe appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Some bone on bone action there as Watanabe checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Gonzo closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Watanabe on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Watanabe tries to get out of the position.

Gonzo thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Gonzo is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Watanabe won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Gonzo off his unconscious opponent!
