The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
West lands with a kick to the temple. Sobral shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
West lands with an uppercut that bounces Sobral off the cage and back into range.
West misses with a left hand

and Sobral counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Sobral.

Sobral got a little sloppy there for a moment and West has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sobral has managed to get both his arms back between West's legs - danger averted.

West isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Sobral stacks West on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Sobral!

Sobral tries for a kimura but West is defending well.

Sobral thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
West is looking for a sweep.

West can't do much from the bottom here.

Sobral is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but West is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
West is trying to control Sobral's posture but Sobral avoids it.
Sobral tries to move to mount but West blocks the move with his legs.

Sobral has hold of West's arm. He's looking for a kimura. West seems comfortable defending it but Sobral has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! West is real pain and he's forced to tap out! West is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Sobral couldn't care less - he's delighted!
