Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Noz Gurreff!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alexi Takala!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, William Peck and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gurreff fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Takala misses with a straight right.
Gurreff lands a nice looking body shot.
Gurreff connects with a good right hand that stumbles Takala. Takala circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Takala tries to clinch up
and Gurreff counters with a left to the body.
Takala moves out of range of the strikes.
Gurreff throws a hook to the side of Takala's head but Takala sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
A looping hook to the body misses from Takala. Gurreff does a little dance to reset his feet.
Takala takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gurreff keeps the fight on the outside.
Takala uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gurreff.
Noz Gurreff seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gurreff throws an overhand right that lands on Takala's shoulder, as Takala tries to avoid the shot.
Gurreff lunges at Takala with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Takala's hand.
Gurreff scores with a jab to the jaw.


Takala is rocked!

That's one minute gone in the round.
The fighters circling - Gurreff throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Takala is still on wobbly legs! Can Gurreff finish him?
Takala throws a jab but it's blocked by Gurreff.
Gurreff throws out a loose jab but Takala uses good head movement to avoid it.

Gurreff is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Takala.
Gurreff throws a jab when Takala was well out of range.
Gurreff goes for a small jab and connects. Now Gurreff goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Takala stumbles back but Gurreff runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Takala to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Takala will ever be the same after a knockout like that.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Noz Gurreff!
