The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ortiz lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Freedman circles away quickly and effectively.
Freedman misses with a series of wild punches.
Freedman wants to clinch up but Ortiz keeps it at a distance.
Freedman throws a lazy uppercut
and Ortiz cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Ortiz showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Freedman.
Freedman keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Ortiz.
Ortiz misses with a looping left.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Ortiz goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Freedman tries to pull guard but Ortiz holds him up against the ropes and eventually Freedman drops back down to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Freedman has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Ortiz is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Ortiz throws a head punch that misses.
Freedman tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Ortiz smiles and moves away.
Ortiz looks to throw the jab but Freedman is out of range.

Ortiz throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Freedman.
Ortiz takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Freedman displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ortiz throws out the jab.

Freedman closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Ortiz did well to prevent Freedman getting side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ortiz is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Freedman locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Ortiz is forced to tap!
