Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Louis Williamson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Louis Williamson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ben Smith!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith keeps the fight on the outside.

Williamson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Williamson gets tackled into the cage by Smith. Smith maintains the clinch.

Williamson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Smith throws a sloppy head kick
and Williamson counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Williamson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Smith has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Williamson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Williamson can't seem to implement his control oriented gameplan at the moment. That's no bad thing of course, for those of us who want to see a good fight.

Williamson has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Smith avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Williamson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Smith walks away with a smile on his face. Williamson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Smith will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Williamson shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Smith throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Williamson.
Smith will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Smith manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Williamson stands up over Smith, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Smith is looking to stand up but Williamson isn't so interested in that idea.
Williamson throws a big elbow that misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Williamson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Smith is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Smith escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Williamson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ben Smith dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

and Williamson counters by moving into the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Smith's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Smith wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Williamson has him pressed against the cage.

Williamson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Smith swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Smith tries to score a power double leg takedown but Williamson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Smith somewhat.

Smith blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Williamson is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Williamson manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Smith gets control of Williamson's arms and successfully pulls guard. Smith will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Williamson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Ben Smith showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Ben Smith is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Louis Williamson.
I think Smith has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
