The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Shinhan.

Blackwood closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Shinhan quickly recovers to half guard.
Blackwood slips a nice elbow through Shinhan's hands, connecting with Shinhan's forehead.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shinhan is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Blackwood's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Blackwood's back!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Shinhan looking to break Blackwood's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Blackwood remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Shinhan will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Shinhan is striking well from the back but Blackwood escapes and manages to control the positon and works his way to half guard. A much better position - the crisis is over for the time being.

That was a close round but I would say that Gavin Blackwood will probably get the nod.

Blackwood changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Shinhan looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
