PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between TikaKiyo Yoshiki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hades Destroyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, TikaKiyo Yoshiki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hades Destroyer!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shirou Masuda and Yukihiro Yamamoto.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yoshiki changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Destroyer tries to avoid it but Yoshiki manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Destroyer to the ground. Destroyer escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Yoshiki throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Destroyer's waist but Destroyer gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Yoshiki off to one side.

Yoshiki turns into Destroyer and is now in his guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Yoshiki is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Destroyer is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Destroyer has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Yoshiki closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Yoshiki lands in his opponent's guard.

Yoshiki drops back, looking for a kneebar! Destroyer looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Destroyer looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Destroyer!

You can see the frustration on Yoshiki's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Yoshiki knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Destroyer on the ground.

Hades Destroyer dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Yoshiki fails to land with a series of punches.
Yoshiki goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

It looks like Hades Destroyer has been cut.
Yoshiki goes for a double leg but Destroyer avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Destroyer continues to drive forward.

Destroyer drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Yoshiki gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Yoshiki's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Yoshiki dives in for a single leg takedown but Destroyer sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Destroyer tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
TikaKiyo Yoshiki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hades Destroyer.

Yoshiki is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Destroyer gets his way!

Yoshiki fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Destroyer to the ground. Yoshiki is now in Destroyer's guard.

Yoshiki has his foot on Destroyer's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Destroyer works his way back into a safe position though.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Yoshiki is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Destroyer presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Destroyer is looking for a kimura but Yoshiki is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Destroyer to get the leverage.

Destroyer wants to control but Yoshiki is keeping him busy.
Hades Destroyer has got the better of the ground game so far.

Yoshiki is trying to escape back to his feet but Destroyer uses the scramble to pass into side control.
