Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Richie McCaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tomi Koski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McCaw comes to the cage accompanied by Seeing Things. Tomi Koski has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, Richie McCaw!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 48 - 29 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tomi Koski!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Yves DeLean and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCaw missing with a left hand there. Koski was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
A telegraphed right hand from McCaw misses the target.
McCaw throws a right and a left that both miss.
An inside leg kick from Koski misses.
Koski walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Koski throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
An attempted straight right counter from McCaw misses the target.
Koski uses good head movement to avoid the hook from McCaw.
Koski misses with a hook. McCaw ducked under it nicely.
McCaw uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Koski has time to react.
Koski has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from McCaw finds it's way round the side to connect with Koski's head.
Koski works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
We've been hearing reports that McCaw has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Koski wants to slow McCaw down by chopping away at his legs.
Koski throws a leg kick that is checked

and McCaw counters with a nice double leg into guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Koski lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

McCaw tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Koski is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Koski avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
McCaw wants to sweep but no luck.
McCaw is working hard here to advance position.
McCaw trying to keep a closed guard but Koski is proving a slippery customer.
McCaw thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Koski looking to pass the guard.
Koski is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
McCaw keeping moving, preventing Koski from controlling successfully.
McCaw wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Koski is now in half guard.
McCaw regains full guard. Nicely done.
McCaw can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Koski controls the pace.

McCaw has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Koski is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for McCaw.
McCaw is trying to improve his position.

McCaw manages to get back to half guard.
McCaw is looking for a sweep. Koski is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
McCaw is looking to get back to full guard here but Koski has managed to pass to side control instead.
McCaw tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Koski wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Koski tries for a kimura but McCaw is defending well.
Koski is looking to take a break and control but McCaw is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Koski tries to move into full mount but can't pass McCaw's legs.
McCaw is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Koski is trying to control the action in half guard but McCaw is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
McCaw works his way to full guard. Good work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Koski wants to control from the top but McCaw keeps moving.
McCaw throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Richie McCaw dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Jab, jab by Koski - just one landing.
McCaw moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
McCaw jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Koski fakes high and swings low for a body shot but McCaw manages to avoid it.
A head kick misses from Koski.
Koski moves out of range as McCaw strikes.
Richie McCaw is winning the standup battle so far.
McCaw misses with a hook.
McCaw is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Koski can do to turn this around?
McCaw looks to throw the jab but Koski is out of range.
Koski raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
McCaw misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Koski.
McCaw bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McCaw misses with a jab, cross combination.
Koski throws out a counter right but McCaw avoids it with no problem.

McCaw looking to score a takedown here. Koski is defending well but McCaw drives through and ends up in Koski's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
McCaw throws a big elbow that misses.
McCaw trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McCaw with a nice head shot there.
McCaw connects with a couple of short punches.
McCaw throws an elbow that misses. Koski uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in McCaw's guard. Nice move by Koski!

Koski trying to control but McCaw is working from the bottom.
Koski stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McCaw swivels though and keeps the full guard.
McCaw not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Koski tries to free his leg and advance position but McCaw is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McCaw looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Koski content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because McCaw has locked up a guillotine! McCaw's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Koski is holding on here and McCaw must be using up a lot of energy. Koski has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! McCaw gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
