With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Johnny General!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
General wants to clinch.
General fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
General scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Bobinski fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
A good leg kick by General.
General looks to clinch
and Bobinski counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. General is lucky that one didn't land flush.

General darts in and clinches Bobinski up against the cage.

Bobinski manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Bobinski tries to land a sweep but no joy.
General postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
General not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
We've been hearing good reports from Bobinski's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

General postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as General accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
General chips away with some ground and pound.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
General tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bobinski paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Bobinski shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with General but General pushes him off and we're back to square one.

General darts in and clinches Bobinski up against the cage.

General has hold of one of Bobinski's legs. Bobinski is fighting the takedown attempt but General gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with General in particular looking to stall.

Let's hope that General has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

General is working Bobinski over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
General pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Bobinski is keeping the position for now.
General content to stall in guard here.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

General closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
General landing some nice looking knees to the body.

General pulls guard.
Bobinski wants to control from the top but General keeps moving.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bobinski prevents General from getting back to his feet.

General has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Bobinski trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

General closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - General lands in his opponent's guard.
General slips nicely into half guard.
Bobinski has hold of General's hands but General slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Bobinski is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but General pulls his head out easily.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
General stalling.
Bobinski is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

General is working for a kimura but Bobinski is defending it quite comfortably.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johnny General showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

General tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Bobinski manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
General fails in his attempt to clinch.

General is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Bobinski is defending well for now.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Bobinski takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Johnny General seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bobinski shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts General as he jumps to the side.

General is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Bobinski gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
General works over Bobinski with some ground and pound from guard.
Bobinski wants to sweep here but General controlling him for the moment.
General seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
General advances to half guard.
David Bobinski has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Johnny General is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Johnny General comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well General has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
