PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jaakko Kilpinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dean Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Dean Martin was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jaakko Kilpinen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 36 - 24 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dean Martin !
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kilpinen fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Martin .
Kilpinen misses with a wild body shot.
Kilpinen lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Martin at a distance.
Jaakko Kilpinen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kilpinen tries to clinch up but Martin circles away and keeps his distance.
Martin thows a left - swing and a miss!
Kilpinen scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Kilpinen throws a leg kick which misses Martin 's front leg but catches the back leg as Martin tries to avoid it.
Martin looks to land a left hand but Kilpinen moved out of range nicely.
Martin scores with a shot to the body.
Martin throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Kilpinen sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Martin swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Martin shoots in but Kilpinen avoids the takedown attempt easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kilpinen throws a jab when Martin was well out of range.

Kilpinen attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Nice straight punches there by Kilpinen. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Kilpinen.

Kilpinen uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Martin .
Kilpinen connects with a leg kick. Martin looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Kilpinen might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Martin pulls Kilpinen in close to prevent any damage.

Martin wants to sweep here but Kilpinen controlling him for the moment.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Kilpinen connects with a good right hand that stumbles Martin . Martin circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Martin on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Kilpinen. Kilpinen obviously looking to wear him down.
Martin darts in looking for a takedown but Kilpinen gets double underhooks and turns Martin into the cage.
Kilpinen using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Martin has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Kilpinen misses with a punch on the inside.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Martin takes a knee right on the jaw!
Martin can't get the takedown.
Martin is trying to push Kilpinen away but Kilpinen has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Kilpinen tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
A head punch on the inside from Kilpinen fails to land.
Martin blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Kilpinen here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Kilpinen lands a right hand that snaps the head of Martin backwards.
Kilpinen has Martin pressed against the cage.
Kilpinen prevents Martin from breaking the clinch.
Martin is trying to push Kilpinen away but Kilpinen has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Martin gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Martin moves into full mount! Kilpinen won't be happy about that!
Martin can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kilpinen is looking to escape.

Martin raining down hammerfists from mount.
Martin lands with some strikes.
Kilpinen is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Bi-polar Asylum, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
Martin wants to control the pace but Kilpinen is squirming around nicely.
Martin prevents Kilpinen from getting the reversal.
Martin can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kilpinen is looking to escape.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kilpinen can't escape the position.

Kilpinen is rocked!
Martin softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and Kilpinen is out cold! Martin jumps to his feet and celebrates on the cage with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dean Martin !
Dean Martin decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
