The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Bart Greer and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Perez throws a nice looking combination but Ventura bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
A big right from Ventura misses.
Perez swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Ventura dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Ventura rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Perez moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Perez looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Ventura!
The ground and pound from Perez seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Perez tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Perez throwing strikes but Ventura manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Perez tries to bench press Ventura off him but Ventura keeps the position.
Perez wants to get back to his feet but Ventura drags him back down.

Perez wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Ventura has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Perez's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Perez is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Ventura!
