Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rupert Murray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marselo Stransas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, David Hoff and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stransas closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Stransas lands in his opponent's guard.
Murray throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Stransas wants to stand but Murray is controlling his posture from full guard.
Stransas won't allow Murray to sweep him here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stransas wants to stand and escape but instead Murray has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Stransas working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Murray doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Murray manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Murray content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Murray seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Stransas does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Stransas is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Murray stalling.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Murray throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Murray throws a push kick but Stransas slaps the foot to one side.
Stransas is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Murray.

Stransas looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

It looks like Marselo Stransas has been cut.
Murray closes the distance and clinches up with Stransas, looking for a takedown. Murray pushes Stransas against the cage but Stransas circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rupert Murray. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Murray tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Stransas defends well and Murray ends up having to push Stransas into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Murray is fighting off a takedown attempt but Stransas is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Murray to the mat. Murray regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

That was a close round but I would say that Rupert Murray will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Murray gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Stransas to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Horrible takedown attempt by Stransas or perhaps it was just good defense by Murray, which made it look bad.

Murray shoots in and drives through. Stransas sprawls well.
Stransas shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Murray pinned against the cage. Murray gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Rupert Murray has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marselo Stransas.
Stransas is trying hard to land a takedown here. Murray sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Stransas tries to clinch but Murray is having none of it.

Stransas is pressed up against the cage. Murray has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Stransas down to the mat. Stransas avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

and Stransas counters with a body kick.

Murray ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Murray no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Murray wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stransas keeps working.

I would just about give that final round to Marselo Stransas.
