Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mountain Rivera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damien Soul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mountain Rivera could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Damien Soul's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 57 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mountain Rivera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Damien Soul!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, George Francis and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soul scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Rivera shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Soul sprawls well. Soul wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rivera gets slowly back to his feet.
Rivera keeps the fight on the outside.
Soul is looking to clinch but Rivera is avoiding it.
Soul should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Soul ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rivera moves away.

Rivera throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Soul was covering up waiting for the punch and Rivera finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Rivera is stalling in the full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Soul is still trying to improve position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Soul can do anything to dispel that myth.
Rivera controlling from the top position.
Soul wants to stand but Rivera is controlling the position.
Rivera's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Rivera fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Soul to the ground. Rivera is now in Soul's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rivera throwing strikes but missing.
Rivera controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Soul is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Rivera is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Soul is trying to control the position but Rivera postures up.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Rivera is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Rivera controls from within his opponent's guard.
Rivera is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Soul not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Rivera stands up over Soul, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Soul has momentary wrist control but Rivera slips an elbow through the middle.
Soul really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rivera. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Rivera is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Rivera lands a couple of elbows.


It looks like Damien Soul has been cut.
Soul looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Rivera with a flurry of punches that miss.
Rivera slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Soul wants to sweep but no luck.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mountain Rivera dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Damien Soul's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Soul fails to land with a series of punches.
Some bone on bone action there as Rivera checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Soul wants to clinch.
Rivera tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Soul defends well and Rivera ends up having to push Soul into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Soul swings wildly with an uppercut but Rivera uses good head movement to avoid it.
A short uppercut from Soul.
Soul lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Soul tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Soul looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Rivera takes a knee to the side of the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rivera landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Soul gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Rivera.
Soul is breathing heavily.

Rivera pulls guard successfully.
Rivera seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rivera will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Soul is sitting in close to Rivera's body. Rivera has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Soul is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Soul is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Rivera.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Mountain Rivera!
