PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Manus Grant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stan Rivers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Grant comes to the cage accompanied by Thunderstruck - AC/DC. Rivers has chosen Cyco Vision as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Manus Grant!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Stan Rivers!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Alec Ball and Yves DeLean.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grant throws a body kick that misses
and Rivers counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Grant throws a leg kick that misses.
Grant throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Grant tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Rivers counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Grant has been working on his boxing with his coaches at SAVATE DE RUE du Quebec in the buildup to the fight.
Rivers checks a leg kick nicely.
Grant throws a body kick that misses

and Rivers counters with a crisp one two that drops Grant! Rivers thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Grant to his feet! Grant is in big trouble!

Grant is rocked!
Rivers has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Grant is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Grant avoids a punch combination nicely.
Oh Grant is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Rivers slips under a jab from Grant.
Rivers is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Rivers keeps the fight on the outside.
Grant throws a sloppy head kick and Rivers moves out of range easily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Grant throws a push kick but Rivers slaps the foot to one side.
Grant bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Grant seems to have got his legs back now.
Grant swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Rivers counters with a left and a right... and another left... and another!! That last one turned off the lights! Grant has no idea who he is and is as he gazes up at the spotlights. Brutal knockout!
