Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Edson Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cooper Higgins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Edson Santos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Cooper Higgins!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Michael Johnstone and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Higgins forces Santos back against the cage and clinches.
Santos is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Santos misses with some punches.

Higgins drags the fight down to the ground.
Santos looking to pass the guard.

Higgins had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Santos defends it easily.

Higgins is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Higgins working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Santos doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Santos manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Higgins is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Santos postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Santos drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Santos jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Higgins told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Higgins is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Santos wants to pass the guard but Higgins is keeping the position.
Santos forces his way into half guard.
Higgins is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Santos thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Higgins's head.
Higgins wants to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Santos wants to work for an arm triangle but Higgins is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Higgins is trying to control but can't.
Higgins makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Higgins.
Santos looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Santos misses with a hook. Higgins ducked under it nicely.

Higgins shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Santos has his foot on Higgins's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Higgins works his way back into a safe position though.

A close round but Cooper Higgins will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Higgins stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Santos swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Higgins wants to control from the top but Santos keeps moving.

Santos looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Cooper Higgins has got the better of the ground game so far.

Higgins thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Higgins trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Santos throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Higgins must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Higgins in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Santos is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Higgins is aware though and is defending well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Santos keeping moving, preventing Higgins from controlling successfully.

Higgins stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Santos swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Higgins decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Santos, up you get!

Santos has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Higgins can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Higgins stands and throws Santos's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Higgins advances nicely into full mount.
Santos tries to lock up and control but Higgins gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Higgins working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Santos turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Higgins off and cradles Santos's limp body as Higgins celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Cooper Higgins!
