Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Eliseo Vega (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tristan Nunez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Eliseo Vega has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eliseo Vega!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tristan Nunez!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Gwen Towbar and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nunez moves into the clinch successfully.
Nunez displaying some good clinch control by pressing Vega up against the cage.
Vega connects with a knee to the head.
Vega is looking to control Nunez's arms but Nunez gets an underhook and turns him. Now Vega has his back to the cage.
Nunez will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Vega up against the cage.

Nunez breaks the clinch.

Nunez manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Vega on his heels. He'll look to pass Vega's guard now, I'm sure.
Vega really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Vega wants to get back to his feet but Nunez is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vega can't keep his opponent in guard - Nunez advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Nunez gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Nunez falls off balance throwing a combination
and Vega counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Nunez shoots in and gets a takedown into Vega's guard.
Nunez advances position into side control!
Nunez advances nicely into full mount.

Nunez sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Nunez goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Vega is on top in guard.
Nunez seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Nunez has control of Vega's left arm, preventing Vega from doing any damage.

Nunez avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Vega will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Nunez bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Vega's guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Vega wants to stand but Nunez is controlling the position.

Vega misses with a knee to the head.

Nunez pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Nunez tries a head kick but it misses.

Nunez shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Nunez was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Nunez is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Vega knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Nunez slows the pace down.
Nunez tries to stand but Vega controls the position and pulls Nunez into his guard.
Nunez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Vega swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Nunez is looking to stand up but Vega won't let him.
Nunez controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Nunez stands and throws Vega's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Nunez wants to stand but Vega has his arm trapped.

Nunez controls the position.
Vega is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Nunez gets a clinch.
Nunez pushes off an throws an elbow but Vega leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Vega tries a body shot but Nunez blocks it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Vega is looking to break free of the clinch but Nunez has double underhooks.
Nunez managing to block the knees to the body from Vega.
Nunez scores with an uppercut up the middle.
A shot in the inside from Vega.
A left hand lands to the body for Vega.

Nunez pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Nunez throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Nunez shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Nunez was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Nunez remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Nunez is trying to get an arm triangle but Vega is defending well.

Tristan Nunez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!



Nunez decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

The referee asks Nunez politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Nunez prefers to stall for the moment though.

and Vega counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

and Vega counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Nunez thinking.
Nunez misses with a right hand
enabling Vega to counter with a crisp jab.
Nunez throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Nunez scores with a takedown into Vega's guard.
Nunez not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Nunez is looking to stand up but Vega won't let him.

Vega wants to stand up but Nunez is controlling him.
Eliseo Vega has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Tristan Nunez is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Nunez slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
