The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendez misses with a right hand
and Dominatrix cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

It looks like George Mendez has been cut.
A punch lands to the side of Dominatrix 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Mendez takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Nice body punch from Dominatrix.
Dominatrix digs a good hook to Mendez's body.
George Mendez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dominatrix moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Mendez slips under a jab.
Dominatrix blocks a jab.
Dominatrix wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Mendez misses with the body kick
and Dominatrix counters with a nice low kick that buckles Mendez's knee momentarily.

Dominatrix throws an overhand right that lands on Mendez's shoulder, as Mendez tries to avoid the shot.

Dominatrix throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Mendez tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Dominatrix is in Mendez's guard.
Mendez is looking to stand up but Dominatrix isn't so interested in that idea.

Dominatrix working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Dominatrix has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Dominatrix throwing strikes from guard but Mendez blocks nicely.
Mendez wants to stand and escape but Dominatrix is having none of it.
Dominatrix throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mendez works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mendez is trying to get back to his feet.
Mendez is working to avoid the ground and pound but Dominatrix connects with a decent elbow.

Dominatrix is working to tighten his grip on Mendez's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Mendez has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Dominatrix is really squeezing tight and eventually Mendez passes out! Dominatrix breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
