Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Robert Amsterdam!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sam Tsui!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shigeki Fujiwara and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tsui misses with a takedown

and Amsterdam counters with a nice double leg into side control. Tsui won't be happy with that.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

A close round but Sam Tsui will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Horrible takedown attempt by Amsterdam or perhaps it was just good defense by Tsui, which made it look bad.
Tsui closes the distance and clinches up with Amsterdam, looking for a takedown. Tsui pushes Amsterdam against the cage but Amsterdam circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Amsterdam shoots in for a takedown but Tsui shows good takedown defense.
Nice takedown defense from Amsterdam. No joy for Tsui on that attempt.
Amsterdam tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Tsui defends well and Amsterdam ends up having to push Tsui into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Amsterdam is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Tsui defends well.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Tsui shoots in but no luck this time.
Tsui is breathing heavily.
A looping hook to the body misses from Amsterdam. Tsui does a little dance to reset his feet.
Amsterdam fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Tsui looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Amsterdam displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Tsui.

Tsui shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Amsterdam manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Tsui drops back looking for a leg! Amsterdam is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Amsterdam manages to kick Tsui off! Tsui jumps back into Amsterdam's guard.
Amsterdam is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Amsterdam has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Tsui should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Amsterdam has tightened it up now! Tsui should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Robert Amsterdam!
Sam Tsui spoke after the fight, saying 'Sometimes, you just have to take a loss. Today was one of those days where i just had to take it. But next time, I'll make someone Tap-Out!'.
