Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benavidez shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Benavidez takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Hopper swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Benavidez.
Benavidez fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Benavidez shoots in for a takedown but Hopper shows good takedown defense.
Tyson Hopper has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Demitrious Benavidez.
Hopper pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Benavidez back to the cage. Hopper follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Benavidez throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hopper tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Benavidez is in Hopper's guard.
Benavidez is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Benavidez makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Hopper throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Benavidez escapes and throws Hopper's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Benavidez is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Hopper's shoulder. That is not cool.
Hopper struggling a bit here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hopper taking a bit of punishment here - Benavidez scoring with strikes.
Hopper tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Benavidez lands a big elbow.
Benavidez looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Hopper covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
