The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Berger tries to clinch but fails miserably
and De Wilde counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
De Wilde content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Berger is staying active underneath De Wilde, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Berger wants to improve his position but De Wilde is controlling well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
De Wilde wants to work for an arm triangle but Berger is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Berger has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Berger there as he acknowledges the shot.

This has been an exciting period of action!

De Wilde changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Berger tries to avoid it but De Wilde manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Berger to the ground. Berger escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jordan De Wilde. That's going to take a lot out of him.

De Wilde is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Berger throws a looping overhand right but De Wilde ducks down to avoid it.
Berger jabbing away but nothing is landing.

A bone on bone clash there as De Wilde blocks the leg kick.
The fighters circling - Berger throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Berger dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
De Wilde works over Berger's head and body with a nice combination.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Berger, right into the meat.

Berger misses with a low kick as De Wilde jumps back.

De Wilde bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
That kick from Berger tenderised De Wilde's leg. De Wilde is trying to keep his angry face on.
Berger throws an overhand right that lands on De Wilde's shoulder, as De Wilde tries to avoid the shot.
Berger lands a straight punch to the body, keeping De Wilde at a distance.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
De Wilde lands a head kick. Berger smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Berger is still on wobbly legs! Can De Wilde finish him?
Berger switches off momentarily and De Wilde cracks him with a monster right hand! Berger topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as De Wilde dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by De Wilde!

A relieved looking Jordan De Wilde thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
