The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Belmiro doesn't manage to clinch there - Ulrich circles away.
Belmiro is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Ulrich has eaten all the pies!
Ulrich shoots in for a takedown but Belmiro shows good takedown defense.
Juan Manuel Ulrich seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Belmiro thuds his right hand into Ulrich's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Belmiro cracks Ulrich with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Belmiro has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Ulrich to stand back up!

Belmiro leaves Ulrich with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Ulrich avoids a wild elbow strike from Belmiro.

I was talking to Belmiro's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Ulrich tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Belmiro smiles and moves away.
Izaque Belmiro has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Juan Manuel Ulrich.

Ulrich is looking to control Belmiro's arms but Belmiro gets an underhook and turns him. Now Ulrich has his back to the cage.

Ulrich tries to pull guard but Belmiro holds him up against the cage and eventually Ulrich drops back down to his feet.
Belmiro wants to break free but Ulrich has control.

Belmiro tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ulrich swats him away and circles back towards the center.
